Modification
The video on the RIGHT was recorded by a fan that was very excited to see Chequered Flag Automotive run the shop sponsored Ford Expedition down a drag strip. This truck is shop owner, Scott Bohannan's other daily driver. This Expedition was purposely modified by Chequered Flag Automotive to tow a heavy travel trailer or a loaded car hauler safely. As an added benefit, it made a great 'sleeper' on the drag strip hauling down the 1/4 mile in only 12.2 seconds at over 106MPH! Since this is a daily driver, it was also very important to make it as efficient on fuel as possible. We dare say that there isn't another Expedition in the world that puts out over 600 horse power to the tires and still gets the same fuel mileage that it did when it was stock!

The video above is a great demonstration of how modifications can alter a vehicle's characteristics. Chequered Flag Automotive's owner and son, Scott and Chris Bohannan, currently race a 1978 MGB Roadster in the Atlanta Region SCCA Autocross Series. Once the MG's modifications were complete, the car turned into a back-to-back championship winning car. Though the car now has a heavily modified engine, 'Quaife' limited slip differential (LSD), and a significantly altered suspension system, the car is more fun to drive than ever before. You can find this car roaming the streets of Roswell, Ga almost everyday! |
